The Treehouse

The Treehouse Review

You don't have to visit Alnwick Garden to eat at this extraordinary restaurant set among the treetops on the grounds. Though at first glance the location may seem gimmicky, the food exceeds expectations, with a menu strong on British classics. From July to September, the kitchen only serves prix-fixe menus; the rest of the year there's an à la carte selection. Typical dishes include honey-glazed duck with braised red cabbage and creamed potatoes, and fillet of plaice stuffed with zucchini and fennel. You can also grab a light lunch at the Potting Shed bar, which is also open for pre-dinner drinks.
