Clifton House Hotel Review
A cozier alternative to modern city-center hotels, this friendly B&B offers a touch of quiet, old-fashioned elegance. The public areas of the 1880 building retain a Victorian feel, with heavy antique furniture and original fireplaces. Bedrooms are very small, and somewhat spartan, but comfortable. The cheaper rooms have shared bathrooms; if this matters, make sure you specify an ensuite room when you book. There's a hotel bar but no restaurant, so the best dining options will involve a trip into the city center—about 2 miles by taxi.
