Bishopstrow House Review

Now under the same ownership as Longleat House, this ivy-covered Georgian manor house set in 27 acres has been converted into a relaxed country-house hotel that combines well-chosen antiques with modern amenities such as DVD players. There's an airy conservatory and a small but luxurious spa that offers Elemis treatments. The guest rooms, some opulently traditional, some sleekly contemporary, overlook the grounds or an interior courtyard. The Mulberry restaurant creates imaginative Modern British meals with Mediterranean elements (fixed-price dinners £35 and £42), though some may find the decor too minimalist. Bishopstrow House is 1½ mile east of Warminster.
