Just over the bridge from Windsor, this restaurant at the center of Eton's Antiques Row serves a changing menu of imaginative fare, from cottage cheese and spinach pancakes with fruit compote to guinea fowl and field mushrooms with curried chickpeas and raisin chutney. The £18.50 lunch and early-dinner menu is a good deal. Well-priced French wines are a specialty, as are the savories—think meat, fish, and vegetarian pâtés—and scrumptious cakes served with afternoon tea. The conservatory, with its colorful scattering of cushions, is a pleasant place to sit.
