Ancient Gate House Review
This venerable hostelry makes a convenient base for exploring the area. The premises incorporate the Great West Gate, dating from 1473, and are full of character. There's an ancient stone staircase, and some rooms have four-posters. Rugantino's serves Italian and English dishes, made largely from local produce. Breakfast may be across the street at the White Hart.
