Askrigg

Askrigg would be just another typical Wensleydale village were it not for its association with the James Herriot TV series All Creatures Great and Small, which was filmed in and around it in the 1970s and '80s. The tourist board pushes "Herriot Country" hard, but although Askrigg is a pleasant village, there's not much else to keep you here, apart from walks to a couple of local waterfalls.
