Castle Museum

Castle Museum Review

A former 18th-century debtors' prison, this quirky museum of everyday items presents detailed exhibitions and re-creations, including a Victorian street complete with crafts shops and a working water mill, as well as notable domestic interiors, period clothing, and arms and armor displays. You can also visit the cell where Dick Turpin, the 18th-century highwayman and folk hero, spent the night before his execution.
