Cedar Court Grand Hotel Review

This historic hotel near the train station is lovely—mosaics cover walls and ceilings, black-and-white tiles stretch across the floors, and carved wood paneling is polished until it shines. With the accommodations, the owners took a more modern approach. The less expensive "classic" rooms are surprisingly small and plain, with tiny bathrooms. Executive rooms and suites offer more panache for your pound, with king-size beds and expansive bathrooms complete with deep tubs and walk-in showers, and some have views over the city. The restaurant offers French-influenced British cuisine, and the cool whisky bar is popular with local business executives. Reserve your spa treatment in advance, as the spa gets booked up.
