The cashmere-clad, Parisian version of the SUV-driving soccer mom can be found in the elegant residential neighborhood districts of Passy and Auteuil -- for residents the allure of quiet, calm streets and close proximity to the forested Bois de Boulogne is clear; for visitors, though, there's little here in the way of shopping, dining, and hotels that can't be found in more central districts. There is the rue de Passy, an upscale shopping street on the hillside below Trocadéro linking the Musée Marmottan-Claude Monet at the western end to the Musée du Vin's wine cellars and the genuinely charming Maison Balzac, overlooking Paris to the east.
