Boscolo Hotel Exedra Nizza Review

One step inside the lobby of this Belle Époque extravaganza and you've blasted off into the nether regions of the 21st century—think the white-on-white, Rococo-ed rooms at the end of Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey—and arrived at a place that raises the hotel experience to brand new heights. Louis Quinze armchairs, minimal mod tables, soaring skylights (in this case, a redo of one originally fashioned by Gustave Eiffel himself), plus acres of teakwood walls, 1950s kidney-shape sofas, and some of the biggest black-and-white Murano chandeliers in the world make this a supermodel of a hotel. Guest rooms are to die for, with cascading diamondlike ceiling lights, sculpted rose door handles, the very latest in push-button luxury, and a white-on-white color scheme. The Italian restaurant here is fish-friendly with a great terrace; and the basement contains one of the most striking spas around (it comes complete with plasma TVs in the saunas, though you don't get to pick the channel!). A destination in itself, this is now the top place to go in Nice.
