Visitor Information in Berlin

Visitor Information

The main information office of Berlin Tourismus Marketing is in the Europa Center, a short walk from Zoo Station. There are branches in the south wing of the Brandenburg Gate and at the base of the Fernsehturm (TV tower) at Alexanderplatz that are open daily 10-6. The tourist-information centers have longer hours April-October. To request materials before your trip, write Berlin Tourismus Marketing GmbH.

The tourist office publishes the Berlin Kalender (EUR 1.60) six times a year and Berlin Buchbar (free) two times a year. Both are written in German and English. The office and Berlin's larger transportation offices (BVG) sell the WelcomeCard (EUR 21), which grants three days of free transportation and 25%-50% discounts at museums and theaters (it does not included the state museums).

Staatliche (state) museums are closed on Monday and free on Thursday during the last four hours of operation. A free audio guide is included at all state museums, though you must pay for it during free admission times. The MD Infoline provides comprehensive information about all of Berlin's museums, exhibits, and theme tours.
