Goldener Anker Review

No question about it, this is the place to stay in Bayreuth; the hotel is right next to the Markgräfliches Opernhaus and has been entertaining composers, singers, conductors, and instrumentalists for hundreds of years. The establishment has been run by the same family since 1753. Some rooms are small; others have a royal splendor. One huge suite has a spiral staircase leading up to the bedroom. All are individually decorated, and many have antique pieces. The restaurant ($$-$$$) is justly popular. Book your room far in advance during festival times.
