This old hotel tucked away in the middle of Kulmbach's Old Town, right in the shadow of Plassenburg Castle, covers all basic needs, with the help of an extraordinary breakfast buffet. The furnishings are somewhat bland except in the higher-priced rooms. The café serves snacks and cakes. Pros: center of town; excellent cakes in café; 3 nice rooms in annex. Cons : plain rooms above café; no elevator.
