Deutsches Filmmuseum (German Film Museum)

Deutsches Filmmuseum (German Film Museum) Review

Germany's first museum of cinematography opened its doors again after a long renovation in the summer of 2011. Set in a historical villa on the river Main, the museum offers visitors a glimpse at the history of film with many clips, posters, and a little theater presenting the first filmed train ride and a "trip to the moon." Interactive exhibits show how films are photographed, given sound, and edited. A theater in the basement screens every imaginable type of film, from historical to avant-garde.
