25Hours Hotel HafenCity Review

Although the new 25hours Hotel HafenCity is a little more kitsch than thematic, it gives guests a fun trip back to Hamburg's maritime past. The hotel information book is called a Logbook, which, along with guidance about the property and the city, it contains the stories of 25 sailors. Guestrooms are outfitted with wooden buckets and rope ladders; some rooms have bunks. The rooms include modern touches like iPod docking stations. The Club Room is a relaxing spot where guests can play vintage vinyl; guests have complimentary use of a MINI car; the lobby boasts a Skype Cabin where they can ring home; and a space for local bands to jam. Unfortunately, until the U4 U-bahn stop across from hotel is completed in spring 2012, guests facing the river can expect to live with construction noise during the day.
