This traditional tavern in the heart of Heidelberg has a surprising range of items on its menu ($-$$), from delicately marinated fresh vegetables that accompany the excellent meat dishes to imaginative soups that add modern twists to ancient recipes (a Franconian potato broth, for instance, rich with garden herbs). Guest rooms are small but comfortable.
