Friedrich-Ebert-Gedenkstätte

Fodor's Review:

The humble rooms of a tiny back-street apartment were the birthplace of Friedrich Ebert, Germany's first democratically elected president (in 1920) and leader of the ill-fated Weimar Republic. Display cases have documents that tell the story of the tailor's son who took charge of a nation accustomed to being ruled by a kaiser.
