The Ankerhof, in an old warehouse, is a unique reflection on Halle's salt-strewn past. All rooms are decorated individually, and most have wooden beams under the ceiling, naked stone walls, and heavy furniture made from exquisite wood. The hotel's Saalkahn restaurant ($-$$) serves both regional and international dishes based on fresh fish and game. The Geschmorte Hirschkeule "Dubener Heide" (braised venison shank) is particularly tasty.
