During the Middle Ages, townspeople stored and sold grain on the first floor of this structure (built in 1453); social events took place on the second floor. Among the Kornhaus's occupants through the centuries were duelists, medieval apprentices, traveling players, 18th-century schoolchildren, an academy for young ladies, the Nazi Women's League, a driving school, and the city's restoration department. It now houses the City Museum.
