Fodor's Review:
Insel means "island," and that's where the luxurious Insel-Hotel is -- on a river island tethered to the city by the busy Friedrich Ebert Bridge. The Mayer family combines a personal touch with polished service and facilities, including 24-hour beverage room service. Enjoy alfresco dining in summer, when chefs fire up the charcoal grill on the Mediterranean-like terrace of the Schwäbisches Restaurant ($-$$$$). The roof garden affords great views.
