Gutsausschank Zum Grünen Baum Review
The Bastian family runs this cozy tavern in a half-timber house dating from 1421. They are the sole owners of the vineyard Insel Heyles'en Werth, on the island opposite Bacharach. The "wine carousel" is a great way to sample a full range of wine flavors and styles (15 wines). Snacks are served (from 1 pm), including delicious Wildsülze (game in aspic) with home fries, sausages, and cheese. Reservations recommended on summer weekends.
