Rathaus Review

Augsburg's town hall was Germany's largest when it was built in the early 17th century; it's now regarded as the finest Renaissance secular structure north of the Alps. Its Goldener Saal (Golden Hall) was given its name because of its rich decoration—a gold-based harmony of wall frescoes, carved pillars, and coffered ceiling.
