The Margi Review

A sculptural stone fireplace in the lobby, a rich brown leather headboard in one guest room, an antique dressing table in another: no detail escapes notice at Margi, an upscale boutique hotel whose Malabar pool—an spectacularly chic setting with outdoor "beds," Persian carpets, and glowing lanterns at sunset—and smartly handsome guest rooms, which come with marble baths and sweeping views of Vouliagmeni bay, attract young and trendy Athenian beachgoers by day and by night. Even though you are so near the beach, the intimate, greenery-filled pool courtyard might entice you: have a drink at the Malabar lounge-restaurant or sample sushi from an upholstered wicker chaise. At night, a lovely touch: hundreds of small candles are placed all around the hotel to create a magical atmosphere.
