Visitor Information
Tourist offices are more plentiful, and more helpful, on Crete than they are in many other parts of Greece. Offices of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO or EOT), in the major towns, are open daily 8-2 and 3-8:30. The municipalities of Ayios Nikolaos, Siteia, and Ierapetra operate their own tourist offices, and these provide a wealth of information on the towns and surrounding regions, as well as helping with accommodation and local tours; most keep long summer hours, open daily 8:30 am-9 pm.
