Pyrgos Mavromichali Review

The fortified, seaside stronghold of the Mavromichali clan, noted for its role in Greek independence, is now an enchanting Mani getaway, a distinctive and intimate inn where handsome rooms and suites are clustered around sun-drenched terraces just above the turquoise waters of Limeni harbor, just north of Areopolis. Stone walls, wooden floors, vaulted ceilings and other centuries-old architectural touches in the character-filled rooms and suites (some multilevel) are complemented by supremely comfortable beds and other luxurious furnishings. Several charming, present-day Mavromichalis are usually on hand to provide a warm welcome.
