Set in an old Neoclassic mansion, once destroyed in the big earthquake, the Naval Museum of Thera has now risen like a phoenix from the ashes. The collection displays ships' figureheads, seamen's chests, maritime equipment, and models—all revealing the extensive nautical history of the island, Santorini's main trade until tourism took over.
