The Albatross

The Albatross Review

This may be Paros' most popular seafood taverna, where traditional dishes are particularly well prepared, and it's little wonder that locals linger here late: for two decades, owner Maria Voularaki has never served a bad dish. Properly it is an "ouzeri," where one eats mezedes with wine or ouzo, so you'll find there are many small plates to choose from. Here are a few: shrimp saganaki (with cheese) in tomato sauce, skate salad, calamari salad with sun dried tomatoes, various croquettes (the mushroom ones are very tasty), grilled eggplant with three cheeses, and plates of small fry. Fresh fish is available according to weather. To find this place, head for the waterfront just south of the dock. Although opposite the bus terminal, the Albatross has a sunset view. For two decades, owner Maria Voularaki has never served a bad dish. It is open for lunch and supper April through November.
