Szerb Ortodox templom

  • Address: District V, Szerb utca, Around Váci utca, Budapest

Fodor's Review:

Built in 1688, this lovely burnt-orange church, one of Budapest's oldest buildings, sits in a shaded garden surrounded by thick stone walls decorated with a large tile mosaic of St. George defeating the dragon. Its opening hours are somewhat erratic, but if the wrought-iron gates are open, wander in for a look at the beautiful hand-carved wooden pews.
