Kisbuda Gyöngye Review

Considered by many the finest restaurant in Óbuda, this intimate place is filled with antique furniture and decorated with an eclectic but elegant patchwork of carved wooden cupboard doors and panels. The mood is set by the veteran pianist, who can serenade guests in a dozen languages, but who is at his best with Hungarian ballads. Meat and game dishes stand out here. Try the tarragon ragout of game, or sample the goose wedding feast, a richly flavorful dish that includes a crispy goose leg with braised red cabbage, grilled goose liver, and lightly fried goose cracklings.

    Avoid

    A group of eight traveled 20 mins by taxi to try out for dinner. Small and worn restaurant but that would have been alright if the food or service were good. All were dissapointed in slow service and some almost inedible food. Venison was overcooked and only one in party had a decent meal. Although prices were ok the experience determined to warn others of this place.
