Rolf's Country House Review
A stone-built farmhouse with a semi-wild subtropical garden and great coastal views, this establishment is now run by the second generation of Rolf Haffner's family, led by chef Johannes. Rolf's has been upgraded from hostel to country house, and also has three self-catering cottages. It's about a mile outside the busy village of Baltimore Hill, surrounded by wild gorse, with views over Roaringwater Bay and its islands. The restaurant (open June-August) and café display local art, and are busy with a local clientele. Rooms are small but priced accordingly, and have a rustic charm, with plain white cotton duvet covers, white curtains, and small casement windows looking onto the courtyard or the sea-and-country views. Why not hang out in the café-wine bar and compare notes with the other guests?
