Tower Design Centre, east of the heart of the city center (near the Waterways Visitors Centre), has more than 35 separate crafts shops in a converted 1862 sugar-refinery tower. On the ground floor are workshops devoted to heraldry and Irish pewter; the other six floors have stores that sell hand-painted silks, ceramics, hand-knit items, jewelry, and fine-art cards and prints.
