$$, Northside
Fodor's Review:
No, the Queen never stayed here and O'Connell Street is not what it once was, but new life has been brought to this old lady. One of the big pluses of this beige-plush and chandelier-lighted hotel is its perfect location at the top of the thoroughfare, near the Northside's major attractions (a 10-minute walk south deposits you at Trinity College). The public spaces are subtly lighted and decorated in slightly loud glass and brass. Rooms are spacious, and the hotel has built a solid reputation for extra-friendly service. The Georgian Room and Raffles bar try to put on posh English airs (think crisp linens), but the casual warmth of the staff undoes the stuffiness.
