Formerly Chief O'Neills, this strikingly modern hotel anchors the rejuvenation of the old fruit market area, known as Smithfield Village, north of the Liffey. The top floors have delightful rooftop gardens with views of the city on both sides of the Liffey. Smallish, high-tech rooms all have in-room data ports and look thoroughly up-to-date, thanks to their glass-tile walls, hot-and-cool Miami Beach colors, 1960s-mod and minimalist furnishings (chrome, anyone?), and feng shui-inspired bathrooms. The café-bar has live traditional music and contemporary Irish food, and Asian cuisine is available in Kelly & Ping, a bright, airy restaurant off Duck Lane, a shopping arcade that's part of the hotel complex.
