La Maison Restaurant

La Maison Restaurant Review

Closing one of the city's favorite little bakery-cafés would have been a crime if it hadn't been replaced by such an intimate, classy little Breton-inspired bistro. La Maison des Gourmets became simply La Maison and, although the delicious pastries were lost forever, this bustling, unpretentious eatery now boasts one of the most inviting and good-value menus in the city. The look is very much casual bistro, a satisfying backdrop for starters like the hot smoked-salmon rillette with dill crème fraîche and sourdough toasts, and such mouthwatering mains as the whole roast duck with a carrot-and-ginger puree and mashed potato. The chocolate fondant is a dessert to die for.
