Fodor's Review:
In the Fitzgibbon family since 1923, Aherne's has a highly regarded seafood restaurant-bar ($$-$$$) with a magnetic appeal -- it even draws food lovers from Cork City (less than an hour drive away). Popular main courses include hot buttered lobster, grilled salmon with fresh fennel, and plaice (flounder) stuffed with oysters in a red-wine sauce. The inexpensive bar food includes seafood pie topped with mashed potatoes. The 12 bedrooms, which occupy their own modern wing, are furnished with Victorian and Georgian antiques.
