Ballygarry House Hotel Review

A mile and a half outside town, this family-run hotel with six acres of gardens and supremely stylish guest rooms is an excellent choice if you're touring by car, and a better option than Tralee's busy town center. The open fires and polished wooden floors in the lobby and residents' library complement the warm welcome of the friendly staff, most of whom have worked here for years. The most striking salon marries modern black-and-white photography with baronial oak walls, so you know you are in for some lovely decor as you ascend the mahogany staircase to the bedrooms in the main house, all suavely decorated with king-size beds and dark-red walls brightened by cream-and-gold-striped curtains. Rooms in the two newer wings have large bathrooms with separate shower and tub, and a more contemporary bright-red-and-khaki look. The outdoor hot tub draws the tired golfers, and all guests love the fine spa. Eat in the formal dining room, or enjoy bar food and a bit of "craic" with the local clientele.
