Time
Italy is six hours ahead of New York (so when it's 1 pm in New York it's 7 pm in Florence). Like the rest of Europe, Italy uses the 24-hour (or "military") clock, which means that after 12 noon you continue counting forward: 13:00 is 1 pm, 23:30 is 11:30 pm.
