Il Sole di Ranco Review

For more than 150 years the same family has run this elegant lakeside inn, where guest rooms and suites are in two late-19th-century villas surrounded by a garden perched high on the banks of the lake opposite Stresa. The latest addition is a stunning pool with views. The chefs, Davide Brovelli and his father, Carlo, do the family proud with their exceptional restaurant. Lake trout and perch find their way onto the menu, as do artichoke dishes in spring and eggplant in summer. Restaurant reservations are essential.
