Auberge de la Maison Review

Most of these cozy rooms have views of Monte Bianco, and Alpine prints on the walls, plush fabrics, and wood-burning stoves give the feeling of a country inn. A massage here can be the perfect ending to a day of hiking or skiing.

    Auberge de la Maison Review

Stayed here for a week's skiing. It is not as secluded as Fodors guide suggests. The hotel has a shuttle bus that you can use on demand and will take you to ski lifts and into Courmayeur. In any case it is a nice walk down to Courmayeur (2.5k) - if you can't walk that far how do you manage to ski? Staff are really helpful and friendly. Although you can store your skis on the top of the mountain, be aware that weather can shut down access and then how do you get your ski gear back? That happened to us and the hotel staff managed to get our gear back (great service). For getting to and from the Airport there are lots of transit buses - we used Aosta travel.
