Grand Hotel San Michele Review
A survivor from a vanishing age, the San Michele occupies a Belle Epoque-style villa atop a cliff near the village of Cetraro, 20 km (12 miles) south of Diamante on the SS18. Mingling Mediterranean charm with old-style elegance, the hotel is set within extensive gardens, and an elevator takes you down to three private beaches at the base of the cliff, as well as a summer bar and restaurant. There is also a 9-hole golf course. As with most hotels on Calabria's coast, substantial bargains are available on room rates outside July and August.
