As its name suggests, this small hotel is two blocks from Rome's premier shopping street, Via Condotti (that is, not on it), and one block from the Spanish Steps. The emphasis here is on peace and comfort, created by surprisingly elegant period furnishings and a relatively quiet location. All rooms are soundproof, and many enjoy views of the rooftops of Rome. Walnut furniture and gilt-edge mirrors raise the rent, with rich fabrics used for the curtains and bedspreads. Each room has its own temperature control, a rarity in Rome.
