In the center of town is this simple yet elegant wood-paneled restaurant with views of the hills. Recommended pasta dishes include vincisgrassi (a meat lasagna), named after an Austrian captain who brought the recipe to Urbino more than a century ago, and spaghetti alla Vecchia Urbino (with bacon and pecorino cheese). A particularly good second course is the coniglio al coccio (literally, rabbit in earthenware); the rabbit is cooked in milk on the stovetop in an earthenware casserole and then baked. Note: prices are higher when fresh truffles are involved in the preparation.
