Fodor's Review:

The Ala is in the "aristocratic" part of town, between Piazza San Marco and Campo Santo Stefano, a few steps from the Santa Maria del Giglio vaporetto and traghetto stop. The owner's collection of armor is displayed in the hall and sitting rooms, where daily English-language newspapers are at your disposal. Some rooms are large, with coffered ceilings and old-style furnishings; others are smaller with more modern decor. Most come with a view of either the campo below or the side canal.

Great Value...for Venice

Small rooms are offset by a great location and decent price for Venice. Staff was very friendly and accomodative. A nice breakfast buffet comes with the room and there is a quaint cocktail lounge.
