Fodor's Review:
This fine hotel in a well-maintained mansion run by Danish sisters Bente and Pia Bevilacqua offers the serenity of the Lido in a location that's a 15-minute walk and 20-minute boat ride from Piazza San Marco. Well-decorated rooms with period furniture and tasteful tapestries overlook the lush surrounding garden of mature trees and shrubs, with clearings for dining tables in summer. Common areas contain an odd collection of masons' aprons, pipes, ex-votos, masks from Jakarta, Roman seals, and seashells. A huge fireplace adds warmth and character in the colder months. After a full day you can relax in the library, stocked with books in many languages.
