Locals almost always fill this place, especially on the weekend (you'll need to book ahead), and it's easy to see why: the food is good, the service prompt, and the atmosphere lively. The canocchio bollite (boiled, then chilled, shredded mantis shrimp) is a perfect starter, particularly when paired with an effervescent local white wine. Though the second courses are strong on fish, Da Remigio also turns out respectable nonfish dishes such as the spaghetti con porcini (with mushrooms) and grilled meats.

we have visited this place on several occasions with friends and on our own.we booked for Sunday lunch and looked forward to another good experience. Not so. Not the usual jocular waiters. A poorly placed table for a reservation. Not very full. service slow. food disappointing. We ordered a starter of proscuito. Thats what it was. just a plate of a few slices. no garnish, no lemon .Mixed fried fish was also poor in variety. I asked for a green salad. I got four or five green lettuce leaves for 5 Euros.
at that point we decided not to go on to desert or coffee. 79Euros including house wine seemed a bit steep.we went back to our apartment to finish our meal.

We ate here on our first night in Venice, having had the hotel make the booking for 20:00. The menus are in Italian but our gregarious waiter was happy to translate. The gnocchi with tomato sauce were delicate and just enough to leave me wanting more. I followed this dish with the frittura mista, a very fun collection of small, lightly battered fried fish. My husband choose the pasta with clams, which
appeared to very popular with many of the diners. He enjoyed his sole, fresh but a little plain.
Both rooms were filled by 21:00 on a Friday night in early March.

The reason we reserved dinner for four (two couples) was because a friend highly recommended this restaurant as one of her favorites in Venice. Unfortunately, there was nothing we liked about this restaurant. From the moment we sat down, we were treated with such disregard that, prior to ordering our meal, I suggested twice to my dining companions to pay for the wine and walk out. Just a few examples: the waiter had a real issue interpreting some of the dishes on the menu; we could not order several of the appetizers unless all four of us had the same thing; we were advised by the same rude waiter that we had to order two courses each and had to place our order at once with no opportunity to review the menu. Moreover, the waiter had the gull to criticize several of our choices as something that we should not order while dining in Venice. One wonders why these choices were on the menu in the first place. At this point, I can barely recall what we ate. I remember that my grilled calamari were not cleaned of their intestinal contents and I left the entire meal on my plate, while a friend was served pasta with those Chinese umbrella mushrooms billed as porcini. A punch line was that we were charged eight (8) Euro coperto (bread charge) and 12% servicio was added to our bill. A very terrible and expensive dining experience. I must add that we have not experienced such poor service in any other restaurant during this trip to Italy or any other trips we have taken abroad.
