A fairly priced hotel in a very central location, Da Bruno is just a five-minute walk from Piazza San Marco and the Rialto. Rooms are simple and well maintained, done up in Venetian style with chairs and bed stands in carved wood, mirrors set in glass frames, and glass chandeliers. You can sip hot and cold drinks on the terrazzino (terrace) upstairs in perfect quiet -- it's so tiny it holds just one table (first come, first served). If you find it picturesque to watch the flow of pedestrians from your window, ask for a room with a view of the Salizzada. There are two floors but no elevator.
