Cafoscarina, close to Università Ca' Foscari, has a large selection of English literature, mainly classics. Emiliana and Studium stock books about Venice and Italian food with a few fiction paperbacks. The Venice Pavilion, off Piazza San Marco near the Giardini Reali, has a good selection of books and novels featuring the city. For books about Venice's maritime culture, lagoon, and environment, try Maredicarta. A number of hotels around the city offer their guests the Herald Tribune or USA Today. Newsstands are likely to carry the Tribune but your best bet for the U.K. Guardian, Times, or Financial Times is the stall beside the San Marco post office (behind Museo Correr) or the one in Campo SS. Apostoli, between Rialto and Ca' d'Oro.
