Amsterdam Wiechmann Review

Popularity with rock musicians—of both the punk (Sex Pistols) and country (Emmylou Harris) persuasions—is announced by a gold record displayed in the lobby, one of many delightful personal touches here. Others include a teapot collection, Delft-blue tiles, and fresh flowers everywhere. A maze of hallways through the three buildings leads to guest rooms of wildly varying sizes; these are plainly decorated but enlivened by quilted bedspreads, floral drapes, and in some, bedside tables covered by rugs (an old Dutch tradition). It's worth the extra money to get a room with views over the canal.

Ambiance and location- 11 on scale of 1 to 10!

We loved the Weichmann. Yes, it could use just a little TLC, but was it lacked in glitze, it made up in charm, helpfulness of staff, the delicious breakfasts, and location. I'd go again in a (New York) minute.
