Amsterdam Restaurants

Breitner Review

Whether for romance or the pure enjoyment of fine contemporary dining, Breitner gets high marks. With a formal interior of rich red carpeting and muted pastel colors, and a view across the Amstel River that takes in both the Muziektheater-Stadhuis (Music Theater-City Hall complex) and the Hermitage Amsterdam, this spot serves Mediterranean-inspired dishes, many of which pack a flavorful punch. The seasonal menu may include starters such as Dutch mackerel with mango and coconut cream, and entrées such as tuna with eggplant and basil or suckling pig with bacon, dried tomatoes, and potato croquettes. Oysters, fabulous desserts, and an innovative wine list allow you to step into the realm of pure culinary decadence.
