A favorite with travelers for years is friendly and cozy and getting better all the time—nice improvements like an honor bar enhance such longtime perks as a great breakfast and in-room espresso machines. The buffet breakfast, in fact, is a bit of an event, with freshly baked bread, homemade jam, pancakes, and freshly squeezed orange juice. The turn-of-the-20th-century town house is on a quiet, leafy street, yet the major museums and the Concertgebouw are literally around the corner.
